Before life led me on the path of YOGA, I was constantly in a cycle of thoughts, preoccupied with the past and the future and therefore never quite in the here and now. I had chronic back pain, I lacked grounding, and especially in my job as a director I felt that there was a lot of pressure on my shoulders and sometimes it took the air I needed to breathe. I was constantly in action and with the attention on the outside, until life pulled the handbrake, stirred everything up and I found myself in 2012, after a divorce, emigrating to Bali.
There, fate led me to a great teacher who has accompanied me as a mentor for the last eight years and who has led me on the path of YOGA. Through him I came to a wonderful ashram in India, where three enlightened masters live and teach. I have since continued my spiritual education at the ashram and, in addition to my own daily practice, am constantly deepening my knowledge through various further training courses in Yoga & Meditation.
Through my experience of being a mother I have seen how positive and holistic yoga exercises and meditation can effect pregnancy, birth preparation and the birth itself. This and my own precious birth experience have inspired me to continue my education as a Doula (birth attendant) and to support other women during this exciting time. If you are also in this transitional phase and are looking for an inner anchor to help you navigate the storm of change, then take a look at my website www.mindful-mamas.com. There you can learn more about my Doula Service, Pre- & Postnatal Yoga, 1:1 Mentoring and Online Courses.
